Early Morning Harvest

Who We Are

Just outside the Des Moines metro, near Panora, Iowa, Early Morning Harvest is rooted in a way of farming that values patience, craftsmanship, and care for the land. Our family farm is built on the belief that good food begins long before it reaches the table—it starts with healthy soil, trusted traditions, and a deep respect for where our food comes from.

At the heart of our farm is the soil and land. We try to make the soil better through rotation, not using any synthetic chemicals, and by creating a balance in harmony with nature and our livestock. The land and soil are not for us—we borrow it from our kids and their futures.  The healthier the soil is, the healthier the plants—and the livestock and humans that consume them or their products—will be.

We grow certified organic grains and stone-mill them on-site, just as generations before us did—slowly, carefully, and with intention. This time-honored process preserves the grain’s natural nutrients, flavor, and texture, resulting in flours, meals, and cereals that are as nourishing as they are honest.

Alongside our grains, we raise produce, honey, and eggs using thoughtful, sustainable practices. While fresh produce grows year-round through seasonal gardens and controlled growing systems, our focus remains on what we do best: cultivating and milling grains from field to flour, all in one place.

Stewardship guides everything we do. We never use synthetic chemicals, choosing instead to farm in harmony with nature and protect the land for future generations. From the first seed planted to the final bag of flour, every step reflects our commitment to quality and transparency.

Early Morning Harvest exists to reconnect people with their food—to bring truly farm-to-table grains to your kitchen, and to carry forward a legacy of farming done right.

Our Mission:

To provide fresh, healthy food for our community.

What We Harvest

Testimonials

  • Thank you and a shout out to Early Morning Harvest. What an asset in the Panora community. This business has really grown and is continuously developing great relationships with many other Iowan-owned businesses. Their business model brings to us a wide variety of food items made somewhere in the state directly to us. I love to visit the store but I know many people also appreciate that EMH delivers to spots in Panora. If you haven't stopped by, I strongly encourage you to take the time!

We're proud to use their locally grown and milled flour in our co-op bakery, where their commitment to organic farming, careful stone-milling, and true "seed-to-bag" transparency is reflected in the exceptional quality of every product. Early Morning Harvest flour is truly second to none, and we are honored to share it with our community."

  • "At Home Kneads, the quality of our bread starts with the quality of our flour. We use Early Morning Harvest flour in every loaf delivered to Fareway because it's truly unlike anything else. The flavor, the nutrients, and the integrity of this flour shines through in every bake. We're incredibly grateful to these local farmers who believe in doing things the right way and investing in high-quality, thoughtfully milled flour. Their work makes our bread better--plain and simple."
